So I Got A Sewing Machine....

...And you know what?  Sewing is fun.  And fast.

Dear Knitting: It is much quicker to make clothing from fabric that is already made.  I'm just sayin'.

I'm indebted to Little Bit Funky for this--I converted the pretty cool t-shirts that Dave keeps in a box in the basement (does every guy do this?) into way-more-awesome skirts.  For starters, they were way too big for Dave.  Waaay.  Which is the point, because if they were not, they would not fit over my hips.
You can see that some of them only sort of fit over my hips, but that's okay.

And on some of them I have PJ Harvey with splayed legs.  Have to kind of pick and choose where I'm going to wear this one, but I love it it's my favorite and my skirt is cooler than your skirt.

Must go find more things to sew...perhaps with fabric! That I've purchased, from a store, all finished and not made of one really long piece of string!

(Never fear, my knitting days are not over.  It is the blush of first love, that's all).

I don't know what I would have done without a sewing machine when my son was Willow's age. He was adamant about pants with an elastic waist out of his favorite "team" fabric (SF Giants, 49's, etc.). It was nice to know that I could sew up his custom pants.
